Darkus (black) Power Card Strategy

Darkus strategy is revolved around neutralizing attacks. The centralizing theme is eliminating opponents' options. Many of the Darkus ability cards destroy laid plans of attack despite their only average G-power ratings. Masquerade used to be the first-ranked Bakugan player before he left Alice's body and attempts to send all Bakugan to the Doom Dimension with his powerful Doom card. He wants to evolve his Bakugan to have the ultimate Bakugan. A good basic strategy is to have two high-powered Darkus Bakugan and one lower powered one to counter a Tricky Gate move which gives the lower rated Bakugan the advantage.

Gate Card strategy

  • Copper: Duck and Win and Tricky Gate have rather large Darkus attribute bonuses - so you want to be cautious when using your smaller powered Bakugan. High Voltage is one of the best gate cards to use with your smaller Bakugan since it will send opponents' Bakugan into their used pile.
  • Silver Card: Find a good card that gives your Bakugan a good bonus without giving opponents a good bonus as well. A low highlighted bonus with a high Darkus bonus can be advantageous like Haunted Night or Dusk since another card can be used to change opponents attribute to the low highlighted bonus.
  • Gold: Most of these cards will give a good bonus to the matching class or shape of the Bakugan to the card. One strategy is to take a low-powered El Condor with its matching gold card El Condor. This particular card gives a low G-power bonus for Darkus. If your opponent plays Aquos or Pyrus you'll get a huge advantage with the attribute bonus. However, if he plays Ventus or Subterra, you can adjust by using one of your high-powered Bakugan to the battle.

Ability Card strategy

  • Red: These are the best ability cards for the Darkus, but must be used in very specific times as they are situational cards. Before you roll a Darkus Bakugan, there are three specific cards that are particuarly useful. Clean Slate is helpful if you havent mastered your rolling technique with your Bakugan. If your opponent has two standing Bakugan, you can make them take them back or if they have a Bakugan standing on a specific Gate card that you cannot win on. Masquerade's Throw is powerful against Ventus and Haos, who rely on their ability cards to win. Masquerade's Launcher becomes powerful on an opponent's card where it switches their Bakugan's attribute to Darkus - so you get the same attribute where you can dominate.
  • Blue: Ones that can be used on opponent's gate cards are probably the best advice like the Power from Darkness card. Triangle from Power performs a nice combination attack with the card, Clean Slate.
  • Green: Cards must be chosen wisely to harmonize with your general game strategy. Obviously the best card is the Doom card which takes an opponent's Bakugan out of the game. The real benefit is that you control so many elements of the battles - so if you take out the lowest rated Bakugan where low powered Bakugan win - it is a force to be reckoned with! Darkus 2 is a good card if you have the corresponding gate cards to make it work. Darkness to Victory makes the opponnent play with the gate cards face up so you can strategically roll your Bakugan to victory!

Darkus strategy is evil strategy play but fun. It takes time and experience to grasp the advanced tactics that Darkus entails. A seemingly close victory is really not the case - and generally losses occur with mistakes. Darkus struggles against straightforward play against attributes like Pyrus or Subterra since they do not count on tricky play to victory.
